Lakeshore Engineering Services, Inc. (Lakeshore) is currently providing Design/Build services for US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Southwestern Region for this Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) in Fort Bliss. This contract award includes all design standards for site planning, buildings, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, landscaping, site elements, communications systems, lighting protections, force protection and sustainable design.
This Sustainable Design and Development (SD&D) project is being constructed following all construction practices, requirements and calculations in adherence to SPiRiT mandated construction procedures. This project was developed and is being constructed to attain a sustainable rating of Silver/ SPiRiTSilver in accordance with SPiRiT standards and to meet the MILCON program. LES will be evaluating the points and options throughout the design and the project and make adjustments to ensure a LEED/Silver rating. Categories that will be utilized are Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere Indoor Environmental Quality and Innovation Design Process.
Construction has recently commended for this project. Shown below are photos showing the clearing and grubbing of the 2 sites in preparation for the new Youth Activity Center facilities. The rebar placement is for the strip footings. Also rebar placement is shown for concrete placement The last photo shows onsite forming of the exterior wall panels to include concrete placement in those panels.
