The Fort Leavenworth Project is a design build task order that includes the renovation of two historic buildings located inside of the old disciplinary barracks (prison) complex.
Building number one is the 468 Building. This was the original boiler building that provided heating for the prison and was last used as the welding and vocational training shop. The new task for this building is secure warehousing for AV and other training equipment. The buildings up grade requirements include new Mechanical and Electrical Systems along with standard data and phones.
Building 472 is a 3 story building This is a “vetted” building with numerous security up grades. Other up grades include structural modifications for seismic and progress collapse, new elevator and stairwells, Mechanical, Electrical and phone/data systems. All exterior and interior finishes were reviewed and approved by historical commissions to ensure the time period “flavor” of this project was reflective of the historic origin of the building.
