Task Order 7 is located in Najaf, Iraq. This was awarded in January of 2008, and was the largest project to be awarded to the Lakeshore HERC Division at this time. The intent of this project is to provide planning, restoration, construction, and improvement for an Iraqi military unit in Najaf.
The goal is to provide various facilities for an 8th Division Light Infantry Battalion. This work includes construction of Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) facilities (mailroom, store, warehouses, barber shop, office spaces, fitness center), dining facilities, fuel points, and sunshades. It has required the development of a Utility Master Plan (UMP), consisting of potable water treatment, storage and distribution; wastewater collection, treatment, and elimination; electrical power generation and distribution; stormwater management; and communications.
The construction for this project began in March of 2008.
